Kabuki Old Town Pasadena Happy Hour

With an abundance of great happy hour deals in Pasadena to choose from, I think Kabuki in Old Town Pasadena has one of the best! Two people can feast their tails off on a dinner of premium sushi and other Japanese favorites for under $50.

Kabuki Pasadena’s happy hour menu is short and sweet, but I’m pretty sure that anyone can find a few things they’d enjoy on there. Besides the food specials, there’s also $1.95 hot sake, $1 beers, and cocktail and wine specials. We chose not to drink on our last visit — so this review is for a happy hour food feast, sans alcohol.

Kabuki staff starts you off with complimentary Edamame. We began our feast with appetizers; the Seaweed Salad ($4.95) and Shrimp Fresh Spring Roll ($4.95).

Next, we ordered Salmon and Albacore sushi ($2.95 for each order of 2 pieces).

There are 14 different cut sushi rolls on the happy hour menu. The Philly Roll is my personal favorite. At $3.50 a roll, I’m a pretty cheap date! The salmon is always fresh, and the sushi chef’s aren’t stingy with it. Since we both love the Philly Roll, we ordered 3 of them ($3.50 each, $10.50 for all three), there’s only 1 pictured below.

Already fully stuffed at this point, we decided to indulge a bit further and ordered the Alaskan Roll ($6.95), baked salmon on top of a California roll, and the Rose Roll ($6.95), lightly battered shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy tuna.

If you’re looking for a sushi food coma, you and a guest can indulge in Kabuki Pasadena’ happy hour and accomplish it at a record price! Edamame, two appetizers, two orders of sushi, and five cut sushi rolls later, we overindulged and rounded out a bill at $43.72.
